Experimenta
Under the Radar
2006
Experimenta Under the Radar toured innovative
interactive media and video artworks of Australian artist to
FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) Liverpool,
and the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) London. The exceptional
artworks range across the visual arts, sound art, design and
installation and are by some of Australia's leading contemporary
artists. Curated by Artistic Director, Liz Hughes.
The exhibition is part of Undergrowth – Australian
Arts UK 2006, a two-year Australian contemporary arts promotion
program in the United Kingdom. The unprecedented scale and
calibre of the works makes this tour to FACT (Foundation for
Art and Creative Technology, Liverpool) and the ICA (Institute
of Contemporary Art, London) a world first.

Experimenta Vanishing
Point
2005
Experimenta Vanishing Point was an exhibition
of interactive media artworks and screening programs that showcased
the work of Australian and international digital media artists,
filmmakers, scientists, video artists, animators, and sound
artists. Based on the theme of illusions, the artworks transformed
the banal into the extraordinary and challenged us to see reality
from different perspectives and featured miniature worlds,
journeys through space and time, and photographs that came
to life.
Curated by Liz Hughes and Emma McRae
the programs were spread across multiple venues; Blackbox,
the Arts Centre, Margaret Lawrence Galleries, National Gallery
of Victoria International, Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces,
Frankston Arts Centre and ACMI.

Experimenta
House of Tomorrow
2003
Curated by Artistic Director, Liz Hughes, Shiralee
Saul and Helen Stuckey, Experimenta House of Tomorrow was an
exciting new media art exhibition that brought together digital
media artists, filmmakers, video artists, architects, designers
and scientists. Exhibited at Black Box at the Arts Centre, and
ACMI cinemas it featured over 30 new artworks that explored futuristic
fantasies of the home.

Prototype
2002
Prototype featured new media installations
and digital projects that explored the possibilities of invention.
Curated by Liz Hughes the exhibition was part of the Interact
2002 Asia Pacific Multimedia Festival. The interactive exhibition
took place at Black Box at the Arts Centre, The Palace, gammaSPACE
and Greater Union Cinema.
Featuring new work from Australian and international
artists, Prototype reimagined the way we live, think, and interact
with our world.

Waste
2001
The interactive exhibition and screening programs
was curated by Artistic Director, Lisa Logan and took place at
Black Box at The Arts Centre, Linden Gallery, Bendigo Art Gallery,
and various sites around St Kilda.
The theme explored issues such as environmental,
corporate and human waste, technical obsolescence, the recycling
of culture and cultural residue.

Orbital
2000
The Orbital program was curated by Artistic
Director, Keely Macarow, and was designed as an interdisciplinary
media arts exhibition for the Australian arts and cultural program "Heads
UP" for Australia Week in London.
Orbital was held simultaneously in Melbourne
(Fitzroy) and London (Lux Gallery Centre for Contemporary Photography)
and featured five new media art works by Australian artists Nicola
Loder, Megan Jones, Nigel Helyer, Margie Medlin,Brook Andrew
and Raymond Peer.
