Awesome Festival, Perth :: 16 - 25 Nov
Thousands of people young and old enjoyed riding in giant coloured
teacups beside cloned silicon babies crooning love songs. Shu Lea
Cheang’s captivating interactive artwork premiered in Melbourne
and then travelled to Sydney’s new home for contemporary
arts, CarriageWorks, and to WA Museum, Perth as part of the Awesome
Festival.

Australian National Tour 2007
The groundbreaking tour continued to 4 cities and regional
centres. Since 2005 the exhibition comprising innovative media
art and short
videos by Australian and International artists has been embraced
by a total of 122,208 people.

unique interactive media art in the hotel lobby.

FESTIVAL PARIS QUARTIER D’ETE
Experimenta curated a program of short video works by Australian
video artists for the Australia International Cultural Council’s
(AICC) 2007 Evening of Australian Cinema in Paris in July. The
outdoor screening was staged in Parc André Citroen in the
centre of Paris.

MOVE ON ASIA 2007
Video Art Touring Exhibition
Premiere: Galllery Loop, Seoul South Korea
9 November - 7 December 2007
Experimenta was invited by
the prestigious Gallery Loop in Seoul, South Korea to curate
the works of two contemporary media artists
into a program focussing
on the visual aesthetics and technology of Video Art.
Liz Hughes and Caroline
Farmer were among 17 curators from Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, India,
Indonesia, Hong Kong and Australia participating in this array
of video works from a range
of emerging and established artists.
