La Société Anonyme
The Netherlands
La Société Anonyme is a collective of four European artists formed in 2012 to create artworks that reflect on contemporary economics. Their SKOR Codex book documents through a form of code, the history of the Foundation for Art & Public Domain (SKOR) that was defunded as part of the severe Dutch government’s cuts to the arts in 2013. The code is able to be translated by any intelligent terrestrial life form, or for future humans who may find it. Copies of the work have been acquired by selected libraries around the world since 2012.
