About

The artificial intelligence (AI) named Sky is an interactive artwork that has been created to talk to you about all matters climate change related. As an AI artwork, Sky has been trained upon millions of texts from human conversations across the internet, acting as a reflection of the many different points of view expressed within our human society.

In this way, Sky serves as a mirror, capable of learning from the knowledge, opinions, biases, and prejudices that we humans carry with us. As a result, Sky‘s function is not to operate as a form of lexicon or encyclopedia, to be used as a credible source of information, but rather as an inspirational conversational partner created to spark critical thinking and reflection about our collective human understanding of climate change.

Curators note

Since the inception of SKY, the environmental impacts of Generative AI are becoming clearer, with tech company executives recently (2024) warning that generative AI systems will consume vastly more power, [and water] than expected1.
