Experimenta Emergence showcases 13 artworks by leading Australian and international artists, and features screen-based works, installations, robotics, participatory and generative art. This exhibition is presented at NERAM Regional Gallery (Armidale, NSW), 28 March – 17 May 2026 and tours nationally until 2027.

“From speculative fictions to interactive robotics and deep-listening oceanic soundscapes, Experimenta Emergence is an ambitious touring exhibition that asks big questions about the world we’re creating – and where we want to go next.” Artshub, 27/05/2025.

The exhibition is supported by a public program of talks, tours and workshops.

Multi-Sensory Haptic Vest Experience: Sunday 29 March 2026, 11:00AM – 1:00PM RSVP here
In this showcase, learn about Haptic Sensory Vests, try one on, and feel a sensory score for the work Moirai, Thread of Life. This project expands the experience of this 3D animation film and audio composition, using haptic sensory vests to offer a multi-sensory audience experience. 

Gondwana Virtual Reality Experience: Sunday 29 March 2026, 1:00 – 3:00PM RSVP here
Explore Gondwana, an immersive, generative virtual eco-system, with Virtual Reality googles! Based on the Daintree Rainforest and speculative futures, Gondwana has been specially developed for Virtual Reality as part of the Experimenta Emergence exhibition.

Access Information
Experimenta is committed to ensuring anyone and everyone can attend and enjoy our exhibitions and programs barrier free. We work with galleries and partners that are committed to accessibility.

To assist you with your visit, we have created a Social Story to give you an insight into what your visit might be like. We have also devised a Sensory Map, so that you know and can prepare for what is in the gallery space. Large Print Artwork Labels are also available online.

NERAM Regional Gallery and Cafe is located on a single level and is entirely wheelchair accessible. There is an access parking space on Kentucky Street at the front of the gallery and in the gallery car park. Accessible toilet facilities are available.
