For Now or Never in 2024, Experimenta partners with the T&G Building at 161 Collins Street to present TWIFSY.
TWIFSY (The world is fine, save yourself) is a visionary and thought-provoking multimedia installation that invites us to ponder the future of urban life in an era of ubiquitous technology and artificial intelligence.
Through blending physical and digital elements, artist Peter Thiedeke has created an ambiguous yet captivating image-object that functions as a prototype, puzzle, and conceptual model for imagining how the real and virtual worlds may ultimately converge into a singular, planetary-scale computational megastructure.
Drawing inspiration from speculative futurism, science fiction narratives, and innovative exhibit designs of the past, TWIFSY challenges us to free our minds from present constraints and re-envision the cities and societies of tomorrow.
Lunchbox Talks with Experimenta
Imagine a life where the real and the virtual have merged into a singularity, into a megastructure of planetary-scale computation that manifests as a machine world. It comprises of layers of hardware, software, chemical, biological, and electrical systems where humans co-exist with non-humans.
Over three lunchtimes Experimenta hosted a series of talks at the foot of Peter Thiedeke’s installation TWIFSY (The world is fine, save yourself) located in the spectacular atrium of the T&G Building at 161 Collins Street.
